Hydro Flask 64 oz Growler
Hydro Flask has me rethinking my thermos situation. These Growlers are insulated and hold 64 ounces of hot coffee or ice cold water and they look cool too. They also hold beer, so you can pop into your favorite micro brewery and fill up. Apparently they are the world’s first insulated beer growler, and while they were made for beer, I love mine for water. This is perfect for road trips and car camping. Liquids stay hot for 12 hours and cold for 24, which is a good bit of time. Fill it up with cold water before heading to the campsite or the beach and you won’t need to buy bottled water or take up space in the cooler. It’s just clean and simple and it works. The Hydro Flask offers easier access than my big thermos, but holds just as much liquid.
The double wall eliminates issues with condensation, so there’s no beads of sweat dripping down the sides and no water rings. They don’t leak either. I think this is an upgrade from Nalgene if you don’t mind a little extra weight. The stainless is more eco friendly, you don’t have to worry about anything leaching from the plastic, and the Hydro Flask is more sleek and solid. That wide mouth makes it easy to clean and deal with contents. Fill one of these up with a frozen smoothies (or margaritas, craft beer, etc.) and head outdoors with your friends–this holds enough to share. They come in three colors and I love that happy logo.
