Diamondback Vital 2 Bicycle
Is there anything more fun than riding a bike in the summertime? This is the kind of thing that makes me feel like a kid again, and I am wild about step-through style bicycles. Check out this Diamondback Vital 2. If you need a new bike for the holiday weekend and general summer bliss, this is a solid and affordable choice.
It’s classified as a City bike. But it feels like a beach cruiser to me in terms of sheer fun. It’s so easy to handle. The seat is extremely comfortable and the handlebars sit up high so you’re not hunched over and the grips are luxe. It’s smooth and straightforward and rides better than my more expensive Marin for half the price.
The tires are hybrid, so it works great on the road and gravel trails. I like that flexibility. You don’t have to worry too much about hills because this bike has a Shimano 21 speed drive train. It’s so easy to hop on and off, and it’s light enough to maneuver easily if you need to carry it up stairs. It’s an excellent bike to take along on camping and road trips. Easy peasy.
I am not a “fitness” cyclist. I’m a FUN and transportation cyclist. I like riding for sheer joy and to get from point A to point B. This bike fits the bill perfectly. It’s ideal for exploring a new town and you won’t be paranoid traveling with it on the back of your vehicle because if–worst case scenario–someone were to take it (which they won’t, because you will have it locked up properly), it’s not too costly to replace.
If you are going somewhere long term, this would be a wonderful bike to have on hand. I have relatives in Florida (awesome place for riding a bike) and every time I go, I rent a car when really all I need to do is get to the beach and grocery store. And then I wish for a bike the whole time I’m there. Last year I decided it would be cheaper and way more fun to spend that car rental money on bikes for myself and my son and use those for transportation instead. The Diamondback Vital 2 would be a perfect bike for that.
This is my first experience with this brand and I am super impressed, I really love this bike. You can find the Diamondback Vital 2 HERE on the Diamondback website, and I also saw it ridiculously cheap on Amazon and at Costco.
