Granite Gear Lutsen 35 Backpack
Planning your summer outdoor adventures yet? Here is something to make you comfortable and organized on the trails and more adventurous trips: the Granite Gear Lutsen 35 Backpack. What I love about this pack is how comfortable it is, in part to being fully adjustable to get a very specific custom fit.
The 35 liter is the smallest pack in the Lutsen series, with a capacity of 40lbs. I once used a 35L pack for a 10-day trip in Peru, and it worked great. It was just big enough for all my stuff, and the light weight kept me comfortable. It also fit in aircraft overhead bins and was just a hassle-free size for me.
This would not be appropriate for backpacking with camping gear unless someone else was carrying other gear. It’s just not big enough for stoves, sleeping bag, tent, etc. I’d go to a bigger version of this pack for that, but if you don’t need to carry those supplies, it’s an excellent size for the minimalist traveler.
The Granite Gear Lutsen 35 is straightforward with two side-zip pockets for easy access and a big interior pocket. A hydration port and pouch allows you to carry a water bladder and there are plenty of loops on the outside for attaching things via carabiner. A stretch pocket on the outside is great for stuffing your jacket and being able to grab it easily when you need it. I like the top outer zip pocket for things you need to be able to find quickly.
You’ve got plenty of room for your ten essentials, including a beefy bivy. This would be a good pack to take for a day of hiking, preparing a meal, maybe hanging out in hammocks, then coming back in.
This pack comes in three colors, and the green is really nice in person. It’s a good, versatile pack that is very strong in comfort factor. Find the Granite Gear Lutsen 35 Backpack HERE.
