2017 Holiday Gifts for Travelers
Can you believe it’s time for another holiday gift guide already? 2017 was a blip! I’m excited for Christmas, even though I don’t have my tree up just yet. Do you? I just read that people who have their houses decked out earliest are the happiest. Kind of makes sense, because holiday enthusiasts are probably optimistic and excited about life. If you’ve been too busy to get into the spirit, take some time to have a festive cocktail, bake some cookies, listen to some old school Christmas music and think about that one perfect gift for loved ones. Here are some things that any traveler would love to find under the tree.
Hobo Sheila Travel
The Hobo Sheila Travel Crossbody Bag was one of my favorite things of 2017. I’m still just as excited about it as the day I got it, and I think anyone would be thrilled to receive this bag for Christmas. The presentation is pretty spectacular, and the metallic detailing on the strap makes it extra special and perfect for the holidays.
I went gah-gah for this and have been coveting it ever since I got my hands on it. It holds enough clothing and essentials for a weekend, or just everything you would need on the plane for a long haul flight and then some. Loads of pockets and compartments make it easy to stay organized on the go. Made for the Wanderers of the world, the Sheila is one of the most gorgeous bags I’ve ever seen in my life.
Naot Wander Boot
I just recently discovered Naots and they have become a fast favorite. Look at these retro-chic Wander Boots. They’ve got some serious style going on, and they are comfortable too. And don’t you just love the name?
They look great paired with the Sheila if you are feeling extra generous, and so do these Naot Tellin Boots. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have found shoes this comfortable that still offer so much style. Now I can still be fashionable while my feet are super happy walking long distances, exploring a new city.
Darn Tough Peace &
To go with your cool boots are some cute socks from Darn Tough. Look at these adorable Peace & Love Snow knee socks. Aren’t they sweet?
Darn Tough makes my favorite socks because they last forever and they are comfortable and come in fabulous colors and designs.
These knee socks are great for wearing under winter boots too because they are thin enough that they won’t generate too much heat. They would be awesome as a stocking stuffer.
Surf Shack: Laid Back Living By The
Water by Nina Freudenberger
This lovely coffee table book provides immediate escape into the world of surfers and salt air. I’ve always had a strong fascination with surfing and stuff like this feeds my inner free spirited surfer. And my outer design geek.
Books make great gifts, particularly books like this that offer eye candy, inspiration, and a mental vacation.
Toad & Co Namche Scarf
A scarf is a great gift because you don’t have to worry about fit. They are also extremely useful, and this soft Toad & Co Wool Namche Scarf is extra useful because it is thin. It’s a three-season scarf. You can wear this on the plane with your hoodie, with a thick winter coat, or with a jean jacket. It’s super versatile.
It comes in different colors, but I love the rich, classic grays that fit in great with a travel wardrobe. Toad & Co has some other great accessories that would be fun stocking stuffers, like these Fairisle Leg Warmers. I love Toad & Co because they use organic materials that are healthy for us and our planet.
Isotoner Ballerina Slippers
You can never go wrong with slippers and these Isotoner Ballerina Slippers are perfect for the holidays with their sparkly, festive rhinestones.
The insoles are padded with soft velour and the soles are suede. They are low profile and take up very little space in your luggage.
If you want something a little more subtle, these Signature Ballerina Slippers are Isotoner’s iconic slipper that match everything and go everywhere. My mom never travels without them, she’s been wearing this type of slipper for years and swears by them. They make a nice gift for a wide variety of ages from teenagers to seniors.
I almost always travel with granola, do you? Having that bag of fast fuel in my purse or daypack gives me peace of mind that if I need to skip a couple of meals it won’t be a problem. Also, if you’re a mom, it’s mandatory. Things can go south very quickly if you’re traveling with a hungry kid. Granola is a people pleaser. It’s relatively healthy, extremely satiating, and so delicious. Granola Lab has geeked out granola packaged with periodic table labels in mason jars. So gift worthy! This Mason Jar Granola Gift Box makes a great present.
Granola Lab makes delicious, small batch, hand crafted, quality granola made with some organic ingredients.
O-venture cOmbO Key Ring Wallet Set
I discovered O-venture this year and their O-key ring has become my favorite. Why? Because it allows me to have free hands and easy access to my keys simultaneously. I’m amazed how useful this is. Prior to using the O-ring, I’ve used the smallest, most low profile key ring possible, so this was a big change for me to have a key ring this big. It just works better. And–it’s beautiful, nearly impossible to lose and fashion friendly. This Key Ring Wallet Set would make a fabulous gift.
Stay tuned for more holiday gift ideas. I’ll be back with a more outdoorsy version soon for the campers and adventure travelers in your life. Merry Christmas everybody!
