Tortuga Travel Backpack 40L

Tortuga’s current 40L travel backpack (the line that succeeded the Outbreaker name on tortugabackpacks.com).

Why we recommend it

Dedicated travel-pack brand with a published 40L carry-on story and a lifetime warranty Tortuga describes on its site. We cite the live name, not the retired Outbreaker SKU.

Who it fits

  • Solo backpacker. One person, one bag, grams and a budget you can still spend on the ticket.
  • Couple. Two people sharing cubes, quiet on the plane, and a bag each that still fits the overhead.
  • Young family. Car seats, a stroller, snacks, and one extra pair of hands for the day bag.

Carry-on backpacks

Tortuga retired the Outbreaker name in favor of a simpler Travel Backpack line. This page follows the 40L product the brand sells now.

Expect a clamshell, a laptop compartment, and a harness aimed at airport walking. Copy weight and fabric from the live spec table when you update this file. Tortuga has iterated denser nylons and pocket layouts.

Shortlist reason: a 40L carry-on brief from a brand that only makes travel bags, plus written lifetime coverage. Not copied here: old Outbreaker gram weights that may not match the new cut.
